Recently I’ve been convinced that I chose the right daily goal. Smile and be really nice to at least ten people a day. I do this because so many people say that if just one person smiled at them, treated them nicely, or made them feel like they mattered, it would have made so many things better/easier in their lives. Some people just need a friendly gesture to be reminded that not everything is so awful in the world. We may all be guilty of losing sight of what we have in our lives that is so great. Food, family, a roof over our heads, and a lot of people take it for granted or just expect it. However, sometimes people get so lost in their emotions that they forget what they have, not take it for granted. They’re blinded by their grief or emotions and their vision is too clouded to see what’s right in front of them. This is why I always encourage people to treat each other like…..well….People! (shocking) We get so wrapped up in our own lives that we forget that we as a race are also a team. By treating others with a genuine smile, thank you, or wave we can possibly remind them of what they have. So please, don’t get so wrapped up in your own life that you forget to make someone’s day by just smiling at them or making them feel special. RIP Robin Williams. Genie, you’re free.
I am determined to be cheerful and happy in whatever situation I may find myself. For I have learned that the greater part of our misery or unhappiness is determined not by our circumstance but by our disposition.
No matter how many times I’ve cried over you I still can’t get you out of my head. Your voice has become the soundtrack to my days and speaks to me in my dreams….calling out to me. It’s like slow torture knowing that I probably don’t cross your mind once throughout your day.
